Glide into JB on Deepavali

Going to JB on a public holiday is one of the worst thing a Singaporean can do.   We checked the live camera on the traffic, prepared to U-turn, then we were off on Deepavali.

Put on sunblock, draw a bit of brows, lip gloss and headed out.

He had a difficult time looking for a carpark at Marsiling HDB and then he was frantically looking for a coffee shop toilet.  Other than that we had the SMOOTHEST journey in and out of JB.  I mean it was even smoother than my solo trips during weekdays.

Went straight to the passport scanner, no queue at the bus, we just boarded on.  No traffic jam.  Grab at Jim Quee and cab came almost instantly.

We were at Cha Lao 茶楼 (located in Holiday Villa opposite KSL), waited for about 30mins, next time will call in to reserve.

 

Dim sum were nice especially the braised chicken feet with mild mala taste.

Paper wrapped chicken tasted more like teriyaki or honey chicken but was juicy and tender.

This was the greatest surprise of all!  Highly recommending -

LEMON GRASS JELLY WITH YUZU.

The soft bouncy jelly was infused rich aroma of lemon grass, so good, so good, so super good...

After brunch we had foot and body massage at Eminent Reflexolog 皇足轩。

The masseur's skill was good but there wasn't much privacy.  Customers were separated by merely curtains, stripping almost naked was scary with a man talking loudly at the other side of the curtain.  Will not go back again for body massage.

Next old man, went for his haircut while I did my nails in the same salon.  We were not fussy, so far so good.

For the first time, we visited the pasar malam just outside KSL.

It was great fun, everything was affordable.  Sad to say I dare not step my foot into Singapore's pasar malam.

We ended up buying dinner home lolxx...

This wasn't nice, everything was too dry.

Roast ducks didn't look too appealing...

Around 6.40pm we just tried our luck at the train ticketing counter, and for the first time, we managed to by 7pm tix!!!  After buying the tix we went straight into the train.

It was so smooth, so energy saving that I was afraid that I might had used up all my 好运 for the year.

Job training at Raffles Place mall.

Tentatively they are giving me 3 work days in Nov, how to stay alive like this?

I walked around in the mall for a while before heading to Bugis.

Old man picked me up from Bugis and we headed to Arab Street which I always had wanted to.

The review seemed good, we had dinner at Ayasofya Turkish Restaurant.

Our indecisive expressions gained us 20% off the menu price, free apple tea and baklava heehee... 

We had a BBQ platter with special rice which I missed so much.

The way they cooked rice is different but I had no idea how.

Early birthday ceb for Darren, nothing fanciful, he liked simple food, it was a good meal.

I gave him $600 for his Melbourne trip liao, being still jobless, I did my best already.

Purposely made another trip to Jewel to take photos of giant Day-G.

Pink hair created by AI, love it, unfortunately it's light ash brown in reality.  The ash brown it's getting lighter and lighter, almost back to bleach blonde.

Old man's effort, I really appreciate it, the kind of love I wanted.

Pic taken from escalator, he actually ride up and down, even had a video taken.  There was a bloody cheena took a thousand pics.  I mean even she took a million pics for an hour, ugly means ugly, she can't be hoping to turn herself into a fairy by hoarding right?

I chop chop curry pok, pics taken by the crew.  Not bad after a bit of editing, I mean given to my kind of body shape, these were the best liao.

I bought another phone cable at Apple Store then 顺便 attended a 30mins AI lesson for free lolxx...

Not mine, yet.

First visit to Hakka Yu was with Ber, brought old man this time.  Service had improved with free tea and snacks for costumers in queue.  There wasn't any queue during our time of visit, we walked straight in bringing tea and packet of tibit to our table.

I love it at home, but I am dying to get a job so that I can fill up the big lobang in my bank urrrgg....

Hospital alone.  Always hear ppl say it's good to get married so that there's companion and the couple could take care of each other.  But the reality is:  You have take care of yourself.

No big deal just felt lonely.  But it was a fruitful trip.  Confirmed my painful ankles are caused by multiple sprains with stretch ligaments.  Appointment made for MRI to see how bad, hopefully proper treatment after that.

Early lunch.

Bo lang, last weekend during dinner time was a snake queue till we gave up, so finally get to try on a quiet weekday.

Had 卤肉饭 with olong frizz.

Food was good, the quiet environment made it perfect.

Dinner with Darren, anyhow stir fried chicken + mushroom + green veg.

Clean laundry but it's already impossible to iron all and put them into wardrobe.

The house is constantly dusty, I resigned to fate already...

Tea break with Luwak coffee and cheese cake, fat die me, but it's ok.

Luis and my lunch, we had rice topped with stir fried chicken, had msg soup base with mushroom and veg.

Chilled lemon tea vietnam right behind was liquid heaven.  Old man actually found it in Singapore!  But not sure where he bought it.

Meeting with DBS banker, she treated me brunch - chicken & cheese wrap + matcha.

Interest rate plunged from 3 to 1.6% and I don't know where to put my money...

I aged so much even with filter.

After the banker was interview with Kiehl's.

The young interviewer made it easy, I was in.  Not sure if I could earn enough to sustain...

Bought dinner back from Sushi Express, it was good deal.  Tom yum seafood don, quite generous.
