Life in Abu Dhabi UAE, Day 25

 Date: 10/04/2022 (Sun)

We bought a salad from LuLu Express Supermarket opposite the road, and whipped up a table for brunch.
My kid sis looked pale and yellow but insisted not taking breakfast.  She successfully lost weight but I am not sure if it's in a good way.  I couldn't stop her cos my own life style is worst and slightly obese, haiz....
But for this brunch around 11am, she ate a bit with us.

Kid sis's first trip to a desert and we chose "Extreme Desert Safari with Dinner" with the same guide again who took awesome photos.

These were camel food sellers, the guide bought some grass.

The desert is so vast and beautiful.

We would die if the glass bottle landed on our heads lolxx...

Camels were such gentle giants.

The place for dinner.

FOC henna service.

So pretty.

The desert was beautiful under the stars.

The food could be better though.

We watched Turkish dance, he not giddy, I giddy lolxx...

On the way home enjoying the Ramadan lightings along the road.

The next day was a Mon, my baby sis had to work, I brought my kid sis out to a mall, half the time she was on the phone, oh well....

Life in Abu Dhabi UAE, Day 24

 Date: 09/04/2022 (Sat)

Along with another Singapore lady, my baby sis and I came to St Regis.

The hotel lobby was beautiful.

We were heading to The Terrace on the Corniche for buffet brunch.  We all came empty stomach and were determined to eat enough for dinner as well lolxx...

We were ushered to wait for our table at the cocktail lounge filled with desserts.
They were such a feast to the eyes, we hadn't even start yet.

By then, the cool weather was over, outdoor sittings were not for asians, most tables were taken by ang mo later on.

The place felt rich, made me felt rich as well lolxx...

Indoor area, our table was attached to a coach, slightly different.

Food pics below-
The set up and display were stunning, food I tried were delicious, it was impossible to eat everything.

Fresh oysters with a spray of whisky, OMG.....

Grilled lobster, king prawn and a seabass fillet.

Octopus salad with don't know what, can't remember.

We had tomahawk with foie gras, prepared upon order.

Die die had to eat the desserts, calories and sugar guarantees a satisfied tummy and happy life.

I had mentioned before, if Japan's toilet is No. 1, UAE's is No.2.

We left the hotel mid noon to Gold Centre.  Most jewellery shops owned by the locals were closed for Ramadan, some reopen around 5pm, some as late as after 7pm.
Bigger brands like Jawhara was opened, my baby sis and her friend brought them so much business.

I saw a diamond ring around SGD200, very tempted but kinda useless for a housewife like me....
It was great shopping, by the time we left was 9pm liao, my gosh.....

We went home freshened up a bit and went to the airport to pick up our kid sis.  The airport was obviously more crowded than 3 weeks ago.  I finished my PCR without a queue while my sis took more than an hour.

The following days I accompany her to wherever she wanted cos her stay was very short, only 6 days.

The next day, we went to a desert together, we took a lot of photos but I some what felt that it's not enough lolxx....

Life in Abu Dhabi UAE, Day 23

 Date: 08/04/2022 (Fri)

Supper back dated again, haiz.... what happened was, the itinerary for Wang Lei's Europe tour with EU Travels was up.  Needless to say I am beyond excited for our first couple trip to Europe.  For the pass 2 weeks I was reading up and doing a lot of research.

The route is from Italy - Switzerland - France.  All along Switzerland is my priority while Italy and France (ppl are crazy over Eiffel Tower which I have no idea what's the hype about, I guess I will find out when I am there) are "side dishes".  The more I looked into the itinerary, the more I felt intense attraction to Italy.....  I am already planning for a revisit to Italy during Spring next year lolxx...  We haven't book this winter trip yet cos we are waiting for other winter packages that may be updated so that we can have more choices.

Anyway, let me continue with this day in Abu Dhabi....
My sis had warned me of the heat but I went ahead to the Emirates Park Zoo.  I wanted to go to the Safari but it was more than 2hrs drive away, so.....urrggg..... I made do with this "children's zoo".  I had simple breakfast before heading.

It was about 40 to 45mins drive.

Ticket booth, bo lang one.  The ticket sales lady told me to head straight for the elephant show.

I had a hard time finding the way, sign boards were not obvious.

The show was left with 10mins by the time I reached.

But it was still good to feed the elephants with cucumbers.

After the elephant show, I was walking "indoors".

Hi my deer.

Stepping out, I felt as if I was in an oven, the furnace heat was difficult to bear even with partial shelters.

I had never seen so many species of goats in my life and these were just some of them.

Then, something bad happened.......
.
.
.
.
.
My handphone showed me this, shocked and amused, I quickly took a screen shot and it died after that.
I had to sit under a electric fan with mist for around 15mins before my phone recovered itself from heat stroke lolxx....  I kept the phone in my pocket as much as possible after.

It's roasting hot but wasn't humid, I thought I would be dead but I survived lolxx....
So, please please please do not travel to UAE between Apr to Sep, the heat is not gonna melt any fats away lolxx...

I wanted to take pic with this gorilla but couldn't find anybody and I dare not use a tripod for fear my phone explode under the sun and pass away forever.

Fed giraffes, too cute.  Photo taken by a pass by ang mo.

Great fun lolxx...

Some birds.

This one was really cute, made my day sia.

A relative of alpaca, it's grinning at me.

With that kind of weather, it was either you roast yourself or dip in to make soup.

The reptile section was with aircon but bo lang, I spend a long time in this hide out taking one ton of photos with nobody in way.

Baby golden fox was the most beautiful creature I seen in the zoo.

Walking out.

Kinda exhausted from the heat.

School kids ended their excursion as well.

Motor ride outside the zoo, not operating I guess.

It was great fun despite of the heat.

By chance we drove pass the drive-thru PCR test center and vax center.  Of course for vax cannot drive through, you have to get out of your car.
It was very interesting, something we don't have in Singapore.

We drove pass Deerfields mall and decided to get some aircon from there.

Pleasantly surprised with a small vintage car exhibition.

The mall was very quiet, I was the only customer in the cafe.

The spotless toilet.

I went into a furniture shop, couldn't resist and bought this super cute milk jug.

On the way home, finally seen a local ambulance.

I was too tired to cook dinner, baby sis ordered food delivery, we had something like Indian rojak and nasi lemak, heehee..... not bad.

The next day we had brunch at St Regis, it was a re-visit for my baby sis and I totally understand why!  It's simply splendid and I hope to bring my old man in near future.
