Last day in Abu Dhabi UAE, Day 30

 Date: 15/04/2022 (Fri)

30 days vacation in Abu Dhabi finally came to the end, I was going home...

We had porridge for brunch,  after that it was a mini headache to get supervised ART test done.

My baby sis had been making sure we had a good stay.  She was the one booking all the good dines, dessert tours, even hired a private chauffeur for us.
It was so thoughtful and nice of her to arrange a turkish stone bath at Emirates Palace Spa.  I didn't know the exact price but for sure it's extremely expensive.

Waiting area.

Beautiful interior.

Service was top notch, we were served cold towels.  One of the receptionist was a young Singaporean, my baby sis kept her contact and were in touch with her in the community till now.

The marble bed was warm, I wished I could hire ppl to bath me everyday like this lolxx...

Every corner of the spa was beautiful and spotlessly clean.

Here's me, clean and bright.

Tea was served.

My sisters weren't as impressed with Emirates Palace as I was.

When the President Sheikh Khalifa passed away, this hotel was fully booked.

Evening flight, baby sis paid full fare for business class, she had chauffeur service while my kid sis and I had our driver but he dropped us at terminal 3 when we were supposed to check-in at terminal 1.

We walked about 5mins, pee and found that the tax refund was at terminal 3.  So we walked back, then it took forever to get done.  We were supposed to claim with 3 receipts but we had only 2, so it confused the hell out of the officer.  When it was finally done, we were half running back to terminal 1.

My kid sis managed at the self check-in kiosk while mine was rejected.

I had my boarding pass printed out and luggage finally tugged in by a face black black crew urrgg.....
My boarding pass looked different from my sis but I wasn't bothered.

It was so sad that we didn't get to take a good look and enjoy the nice airport.

No time to waste, ride on the last train to the boarding gate.
My baby sis went on board first to biz class.  My kid sis and I had selected seats to be together in the morning, she was ushered to the right and I was all ready to follow her from behind but was stopped by the crew "This way Mdm..." with his hand showing me to the right.  I told him no, I was going in to sit with my sis.  "No Mdm, this way please....".  I raised my voice a little (maybe not a little >.<) "You make a mistake, I had booked the seat together with my sista!"

So he "screamed" back "MADAM...." with his finger pointing to my boarding pass on the word B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S.   He must be thinking in his heart..... this chinese bitch cannot read English is it......
I softly "Oh....".

I was leaded to my business class seat.  I sat down couldn't believe what happened, overjoyed, almost cried.  What happened was a few days before this flight, my upgrade was rejected, was told to re-bid for about SGD650.  I didn't think it was a good deal, so I re-bid SGD400 instead, not too positive about it and didn't manage to check my email also cos my phone's local SIM card was expired.

That's a drama which I would remember for a life time.  I made a little prayer to thank God for giving me this comfortable seat again, it's horrible to go back to economy.....

I had apple juice or something instead of champagne for welcome drink.
I went to look for my baby sis, she was changed in PJ and ready to knock off lolxx...

I briefly explained to her what happened, and soon we were in the sky of Abu Dhabi.

Had a cup of latte and I ta bao the mix nuts.

We didn't have dinner so supper was very much needed, chicken soup with bread rolls, ta bao bread rolls.

They run out of seabass so I took beef with mashed potatoes, I hate french beans.

Pink inside, not too bad.

Red date pudding, sibei full already.

Had a very good sleep.

Should had skipped breakfast, I was so sleepy.... not bad but not fantastic, ta bao bread again.

Rays of sun appeared, we were near home.

It's a pity that I didn't get good pics of sun raise.

The experience flying back felt better than going with more friendly crews.

Part of me didn't want to leave the plane, it's so comfortable.... I have no idea if I'll be able to afford to fly biz in future.

Folded up the soft blanket, we were ready to land.

Then the pilot announced that there was/were bird carcass on the runway that needed to be cleared, so we went flying around above some plantations.

He came to fetch me, wasn't too affectionate even after one month's apart (but he did something else to coax me lolxx...).   I should at least be grateful that he is giving a comfortable life no matter how annoying he maybe.....
The house was fine without me, though not spotlessly clean, it was all good and I didn't have much to do.

It was such a memorable flight...... Economy fare 2 way Singapore to Abu Dhabi was around SGD700, I bided in total around SGD700 for biz class, insane good deal.  My sis recently booked one way biz and economy for return it was over SGD4500.  Air tix price went rocket for the last quarter of 2022.

So..... this is precious souvenir....

I am so glad that I am finally done with my Abu Dhabi posts and will move on ASAP to my KL trip.  I really hope to get it done before I fly off to Europe sia, heehee.....

Life in Abu Dhabi UAE, Day 29

 Date: 14/04/2022 (Thurs)

As you are reading this, I am having some on and offs of high blood pressure which made me heavy headed almost throughout the day.  The Polyclinic doc refused to give me medication, not sure if it's a good thing.  PapaVoo said it's hard to quit the medication once started.  What am I going to do with my deteriorating health.....

This post is quite long with lots of photos to share, it's the 2nd last stay in UAE, made my last time to Dubai.  I treasured every minute, cos I don't know when I can be back.

We were heading to Dubai Deep Dive, the deepest man-made dive in the world.  Visit Dubai, you can see many world records at a go.... Tallest building, biggest shopping mall, biggest fountain, the city with awe......

The dive is 60m deep containing 14 million litres of distilled water.

The reception area, the interior is very cool, like a cruise ship.

There was a big viewing glass at the waiting area, looking down the bottomless dark hole made my legs jelly, my kid sis though holding a diving license but hadn't dive for many years, she swallowed sia lolxx...

Although I couldn't dive, looking at the equipment and gears were fascinating.
My sis later told me they were extremely impressed by how clean and new were all the facilities, till the extend they wonder if it's profitable with their reasonable prices.

I didn't stay too long with them, a handsome young boy came to fish me away for a facility tour.
He showed me one of the classroom.

The classroom has a viewing panel also.

Long story short, at the basement are lots of machines and pumps to filter the water in the dive.

The machines are slightly raised up in case of leakage.

The control room which controls the temperature and filtering of water.

This big pool is the entrance of the dive, everything is AMAZING.

Another control station overlooking CCTVs in the dive.

This is the recovery room which is able to mimic the air pressure in the dive, it's for emergency.
It's kept sanitized so nobody is allowed to step in.

That grey big tank at the end contains oxygen.

A big conference room here.

Love the viewing panel, me looking tiny with it.

The tour was about 40mins, after which I stayed at the cafe.

Very nice ambience which I gave up for this cocoon seat with viewing gallery.

Brunch while waiting.

Life was great, didn't want it to end.

Waiting for my sisters to swim by lolxx...

Fond memories, I was very happy although I couldn't dive.

Bread and some omelette with bacon, ate slowly....

I had the best view.

Finally 2 familiar body appeared.

My sisters!!!!

Muaaahaahaahaahaa......

When they were done, we meet up in the washroom, it was so luxurious.

One of the shower room was the size of a HDB bedroom.

While they were showering, I gotten my makeup done and went back to the cafe.

The 2 divers were obviously hungry.

We went to Dubai Outlet Mall.
Stayed for an hour or so, bought nothing.

Next stop was Burj Khalifa for dinner.  Pic taken at the foot and the top couldn't be seen.

First time seeing a car with doors opened upwards in real life.

We had to queue to get into the lift and my baby sis was very very pissed off.
The view was nice, but I didn't manage to take a pic.

View of Dubai Mall and fountain from 153 or 154th floor.

The glass panel was hard to maintain I supposed, so the view from our table was just.... like that lor.
But it was not cheap get up here.  If I am not wrong, there was a minimum spending of USD100 per person.

Fruit juice with ugly presentation.

Prawn salad.

Fried mid wings

I had beef sliders.

I forgotten what's this.

Millionaire burger, golden in color.
Taste not bad but too expensive at The Lounge Burj Khalifa.  My baby sis not in a good mood, but I told her the tix to come up just to see the view was around SGD60, she then felt better lolxx...

Not recommended unless you need to burn off excess money.

I took a short video of the fountain show.

The night view, looked better.

Bye bye Armani Hotel DXB.

The last stop was Dubai Auto Market for my kid sis to view my baby's new bought Porsche (it's only around SGD60K 2nd hand).
My kid sis very cute, she happily hopped in the car and before she test drove, she asked "Where is the brake?"  The dealer's face was priceless and told my baby sis to go sit with her lolxx...  It's hilarious!

Goodbye Dubai, I will fly to you whenever I chance upon cheap ticket heehee......  Dubai my love......

8 - 14 Mar 2026

09/03/2026 It was difficult to wake up.  Took Grab cab to Woodlands check-point but was still 30mins late for root canal at E&E Dental. ...
