Life in Abu Dhabi UAE, Day 22

 Date: 07/04/2022 (Thurs)

Felt like a living oven, but it's a lot less humid, so no perspire, not uncomfortable.
Nevertheless I need to turn on the aircon before I turned into a soft boil egg.  2hrs later the house was cool enough to switch off.

I made a big pot of pork stew for dinner.
The stove did it's work for 3hrs, then I was off to The Galleria Mall to meet my baby sis.

Ramadan decor was everywhere and they looked stunning.

Window shopping.

Before going into the nail salon, we popped by Versace to see their summer collection.  Me couldn't afford, it's my sis who's preying on them lolxx....

Sunset could be seen inside the mall.  I couldn't believe it but it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Brilliant architect.

I have no words to describe this beautiful blend of nature and architectural wisdom.

All beauty salons in UAE are "covered" up, very secretive lolxx...
I somehow didn't take pics of the interior, it was actually quite nice.

I did a tiffany blue with clouds and a bit of gold, I was so happy.

Back home around 9pm for dinner.  Supper delicious messy stew.

Life in Abu Dhabi UAE, Day 21

 Date: 06/04/2022 (Wed)

Sorry, lack of update cos I was binge watching china drama and lost the momentum lolxx....  I fall back into very bad late sleeping habit and is in a daze most of the time.  I need to help myself sia.... haiz....  I am bucking up now.

Continue with Day 21st, I went YAS Island.  I could see the island from my balcony but crossing over the island by highway had to make a big turn from my place.  Kinda troublesome but I made it over to get more photo frames from IKEA.

Passed by Warner Bros.

Finally I was at the "correct" IKEA, this was about the same size as Tampines'.

The cafe bo lang at 2.30pm.

Very different menu with a few similar items.

I couldn't finish the full set of soup, salad and chicken leg with a huge hip of mash potato.
Should had ta bao for dinner.

Price wise I didn't see much difference with Singapore, products more or less the same.

We need more touchless buttons....

Happy shopping with trolley.

I hardly see any locals, only a few expats.  It's Ramadan period, most of them were still sleeping, they would wake up just before break fast.

Turquoise rolls, I cannot......

After shopping, I went back to the cafe to ta bao some fried rice for dinner.

I decided to explore a little more around Abu Dhabi (before my kid sis flew over), found this historical place called Qasr Al Hosn, the oldest building in Abu Dhabi.

There were many palm trees around, I had to take some photos with, else no chance le....
But it's insane at 39 degrees.....

Cafe, bo lang.

Art gallery, also bo lang.

It was only after a few days I realized I totally missed out the main building cos' it was too scorching hot to walk over, I should had brave through, haiz...

I actually thought this was it, haiz....

Less than 5mins drive was this neighbourhood mall that I found in google map.  It's a Gold Souk.  Since I wasn't going to the touristy gold souk in Dubai, I thought this might not be bad.

Outside LuLu Supermarket were lots of kitchen ware promotions.

Local perfumes.

Any how walked and I was in a big furniture shop called Home R Us.

So pretty, made me happy even though I wasn't buying anything.

Candle holders and many many pretty breakable decors.

I wanted to buy these crystal lotus candle holders but hubby said difficult to bring back, urrrgg.....

Ferrari, bed lolxx...
I had a difficult time finding the way out later.

I was exhausted, so made it a short browse around the jewellery shops.

Not our style but it was fun looking at the exotic designs.

All huge and chunky, probably cos more than SGD10K ba.

I showed this butterfly shape bracelet to baby sis, she was hooked and we came back a few days later.

I bought cheap charcoal and bukhoor.  It's arabic incense.

Reached home close to dinner time.  IKEA's fried rice nice!

I was exhausted and had to go slow the next day.
