Only worked 5 days in Oct

 21/10/2024

This was recommended by the Japanese supplement auntie.  Located in/beside Wisma food court.
I didn't realise they had an area for diners, anyway there were seats in the food court in odd hours.

Had collagen soup base and normal groupa fish, topped with bean curd strips with a huge damage of $20.
Delicious, I'll come back to try another soup base with seabass (to lower the $$ damage), if I am ever given a work slot at Scotts.  This was technically my last day of work today, only worked 5 days in Oct.

I had found another no need to use brain temp job starting from mid Nov to mid Dec.  Much lower pay but would be zero if I continue to stay at home.  A bit disappointed with myself that I didn't earn as much as I hoped...  So far I had made enough to cover my Vietnam trip.

Bought this baguette from the long queue bakery at Scotts supermarket.  Tasted normal.
I am craving for Vietnam's banh mi so badly now...

Darren poot's birthday, we had dinner at Tampines One.

Wanted to try their Japanese mee pok.
Normal chawanmushi.

Normal fried chicken.

Japanese mee pok topped with whipped potato with curry sauce.  Weird combi but taste was good.

One inch width mee pok.

So wide that it didn't look like noodles any more.

Tempura was normal cluttered with cutleries.

Chilli ban mian lolxx...

Mee pok lolxx...

Once was enough, cos we find it a bit expensive...

Day trip to JB

19/10/2024

JB day trip with PapaVoo's friends, total 7 of us, hired a mini bus to drive us in and out.  Leaving house at 6.40am was the only complain.

First stop for brunch at The Toast, but I don't know which outlet this was.

Food was nice, but obviously catered to Singaporeans, didn't taste like Malaysian food at all.
Dried mee siam with otah.

I had wobbly eggs on toast with curry.

Next stop Aeon Mall Tebrau.

Found HaiDiLao, with a wall record of world wide outlets.
So we had covered the one and only HDL in UAE.  Made me want to "conquer" HDL in our coming Hanoi trip.

See look Labubu.

Amazing sand art for Deepavali.

Bought movie tix cos it's a bad ideal to shop from 11am to 5pm.  There were only 2 expensive massage spas in the mall, so we gave it a miss.  Wanted to do mini korean facial but was full.
So we were all good and went in for a 1.15pm show.

Car was so affordable, just across the border.  It's almost as long as you were working, you could get a car.  That said, but I wasn't sure of the job opportunities and salary market rate in Malaysia.

Dinner at Mount Austin 新煌亭.  This was my recommendation, and it didn't disappoint.

Charcoal tofu, crispy outside, super duper soft inside.

Salted egg lotus root was probably the favourite dish for everybody, it was wiped out in less than a min.
Surprisingly refreshing yet flavourful, right on the point without being over powering.

Weird sweet sour pork on ice.  The dish would taste the same without ice, why the ice, I didn't understand.

Signature seafood porridge, the soup base very power.

菜圃 fish.

Prawn fritters.

Ginger chicken, very tender and yummy.

This 虾枣 was the only dish which was so so only but still tasty.

Some jelly dessert.

After dinner, was going back time.  The travel and going through custom was relatively easy as we were very busy talking and laughing.

1st half of Oct

 01/10/2024

It's really lame to go back to workplace on a non-working day but had to meet up with this lady who intro me a job (although it didn't last...).

We had dinner at Sinpopo (the name sounded too comical).

Some ginger lemon soda.

Atas Lotong with beef and a super soft hard boiled egg (What am I saying??  But was very nice, no, not onsen egg).
The curry was delicious, the rice was soft, it was just PERFECT!

I was hungry, so rice was very much needed, had Nasi Lemak.
This was a rare case where food tasted way better than it looked.  The mid wings were super juicy though they looked like some hard goreng pisang here.

Then I rolled over to Chinatown and found the cheapest foot massage in Singapore inside Pearl Center - $26 for an hour.
The entire 3 floor was all massage parlours, very competitive environment, with more or less the same price for foot massage.  Chose "open" (visible from outside) salons to avoid men's sleazy fake salons.

After 1hour of not bad massage, meet up with old man and one of his colleagues.
Tom and Nick Cafe closed on us so we ate at some random stall while I had dessert.

Drove back passing by Little India.

Matcha latte with chestnut pastry my friend brought back from 福建 China.

Finally done and ditched Mayer stove, gotten Techno, so far so good.
Please be warned - DO NOT BUY MAYER STOVE, mine had problem in less than a year.  The price is cheap for a reason.

I made myself a messy bowl of ramen with leftover onden and a failed onsen egg.  Kinda didn't do the $8 ramen justices lolxx...  Pan seared salmon was effortless, lunch was great at home.

Made Turkish apple tea and was good throughout the day, love it at home.

PapaVoo bought salmon head soup for dinner and it took me more than an hour to eat it.  Many bones to deal with but was freaking good.

Work day, went PopMart Wisma to see the raving Labubu.
Most items out of stock, so just see look the displays.
The merlion version looked hilarious.

Big fang monster.
If Lisa had an official advertisement with it, she would had earned big bucks lolxx...

Had lunch at Wisma foodcourt, nasi padang was about $10.  All good but I was feeling heaty couldn't take in the spice.

Another workday in Orchard Road, ate light lunch for a big feast later at night.
Char siew chee chiong fun.  This was located in B1 of ION, recommended.

After work, PapaVoo and Luis came to eat HDL at Wisma with me for dinner.
Never sick of it even after countless times we ate HDL.

Had $30 off and a broccoli plushie.

Work at BHG.  They shifted our products wall, this time no stool.  Didn't like it here even though that cashier had left me alone.  She obviously had a nice piece of what she sowed.  She had no idea who did it cos' she had bullied so many people.

Lunch.

Had teriyaki chicken with cheese baked rice.
Taste was average, but it was a peaceful lunch.

My legs died on me, I had to "eat snake".  Bought an expensive baby Boost to just sit down for a while.

Time finally snailed pass 8 ours.

Bought avocado croissant for supper.

07/10/2024

Brunch with Lavender bakery layered cube toast, it was around S$8.  I know it's overpriced, but I just wanted to try.
It was "hole-ly", super fluffy and buttery.  Nice but I wouldn't splurge on it again.

08/10/2024

Brunch with Darren, he had the same set of mini plates of ham & egg omelette + pork dumplings in chilli oil + red bean glutinous rice + cream bread roll.

09/10/2024

$8 ramen set.
Love the shoyu broth.
Air dried chicken drum was so good.

13/10/2024

My sons and my current cold brew indulge, but it's finishing soon.

14/10/2024

Workday at Scotts, it was winter here.

Lavender bakery had Halloween display.

Had $8 hakka yong tau foo at ION, love the refreshing radish soup.  Kinda sad that I was losing the job soon (they had enough girls to fill the Scotts counter and the BHG counter didn't open).
PapaVoo came to pick me up from work, he saved my legs.

15/10/2024

Was always in my best mood on a rest day after a day's work.
But this break was a bit too long...  Next work day was scheduled at next week.

I am finally catching up with my diary lolxx...

1st half of Dec - suddenly last month of 2024

01/12/2024 Other than the NTUC supermarket, Singapore Pools had the most business.  Why people keep trying their luck when the odds are so...
