I gotten a dryer!

I had to wipe the window panels so that PapaVoo could stick the window stickers, probably the only task he likes to do.  There were white in small dots all over the window grills and frames, so my windows looked dirty even if they were cleaned.  I took out the turpentine hoping to remove them but they decided to stay, oh well. 

Stir fried ramen topped with a big heap of bonito flakes for brunch before work began.

I was looking high and low, there must be a card board or thick piece of paper somewhere in the house, finally found last year's calendar.  I made a sign for the despatch, heehee....

I was actually hoping he could get done by himself, but he preferred me around lah, like baby like that.....

Simple and sweet.  Only 2 panels, next time I want 4 panels.

After that I cleaned the rails, they were so gross, I think I have to make an effort to clean it more often.

Late evening, the dryer came.  I used it the very night, the only regret was not getting it 20 years ago.

Clothes were soft , smells like it's under 10 suns, less crease, so I had less to iron.  Less chores at night, in fact I can brave through dish washing now.  Previously, after cooking, I have to clean and wash, then load clothes into washing machine, bring some clothes into the bedroom to hang dry.  Then wait till old man sleep before hanging up the rest on poles.  Ppl play with phones and watch Netflix relax at nights, while my nights were nothing but chores.

So now I actually do my laundry the first thing I gets up.  Once the clothes are out the the dryer, I fold whatever I need to fold and hang whatever need to be hang, saved so much time and effort.

We gotten a dryer

I woke up to drink water and found him smoking near the balcony last morning.  He had to cheek to tell me he was smoking "outside" the balcony.  So I could only hang half stick and the rest of the wet laundry in my bedroom.

It's a torture to me, both mentally and physically, but I can't be depress.

I was struggled to get off the bed and by the time I started my day it's 4pm, I was really absurd I know.

Green tea latte and salted pretzel, yum yum.

Took longer than expected to stick the couplets up as the sticky tapes were so difficult to peel off.  But they were pretty strong, nothing fell off after more than a week, so I am very pleased.

Looked awesome.

Love the lion head.

However, I totally forgotten about the door bell and it was in it's way, had to make do...

It was still bright at 6.30pm, so I quickly cleaned the top part of the outside window.  I do it like once or twice a year cos too lazy to climb up the window lolxx....  So white wet wipes turned really black haahaahaa......  I will die if used clothes and need to wash them.

Date: 06/01/2022 (Thurs)

There's a misplace of stool at the common bath, so I knew he smoked in the common bath.  To confirm my assumption I took down the bath towel which was hang near to the bath's window...... disgusting smoked towel, I dumped it straight into the washer.  I tried not to exploded, msg and asked if he smoked in the bath, he said yes.  Next, I msg back "Ok, we are going to buy a dryer tonight."  And he replied back ok.  My fume was instantly wiped out.  The machine is going to change my life I know.

Somen topped with whatever I could find.  It's so yummy.

I grouted the entire shower area except for the top most part which I needed a ladder to reach.

Had to use up the entire tube else the remaining will dry up, so I whiten 1/4 of the floor.

Evening, we went to Courts, found a dryer at around $500 only and they could deliver the next day.

I  WAS  SO  HAPPY.

I wasn't sure I want them or not, but was good to keep in mind.

We had dinner at IKEA cafe, mala spaghetti, it's salt over dosed.

Mala wings using the same sauce was equally saltish.

Same old salmon was good.

It was one of my happiest day.

Parcel day

It's a parcel day, my purchases from Shopee arrived one after another.

The table cloth came first, looked cute and the material quite thick.  My dinning table is black and the table cloth is completely opaque.

However, I don't believe it's waterproof, PapaVoo eats like a kid so I told him to buy a transparent PVC to put on top of it.  It's now in a roll, I haven't spread it out to see how it's like, if it's wrinkly then I'll be in trouble.

Next, the door couplets came, the lion head is gorgeous.

I made lunch, looked horrible but were yummy.

The door couplets were pop up kind, had to DIY.

I was getting them done first before putting them up the next day.

Weather had been slightly cooler around 29, it was so much more comfortable, I didn't have to be in sweaty wet clothes, I wished it could last.

Next, the window stickers came.  They came in A3 sheets, much better.  Previous years I had them in big rolls which we had to lay on the floor and cut them into workable pieces.

Very simple design, hoped it turned out well.

The grout whiteners came too.  Not sure when I could get the toilet done as Darren sometimes sleeps till late noon, by then not enough time for drying cos everybody showers in the evening.

Anyway, these are really good, I may work on the living room floor tiles if I have time.  Else will do slowly after CNY.

Dinner ta bao from Spize, we had roti john, mutabak and prata, lots of flour lolxx...

Mid night liao, I going for a shower, aim to sleep earlier lah.  Will update again tomorrow.

It's a new beginning

For Darren before he went to work.

Later in the evening we went to visit a friend's new house at Ang Mo Kio.  It was nice to catch up.

I fixed up shelf, the adhesive was strong and going.

The holders however took turns to drop off, I might need to re-apply adhesive.

I took out the curtains in advance, couldn't wait to put them up.

Took down the Xmas tree and kept the decors, all in one box.

PapaVoo helped to stuff the tree back into the old box.  I hope next year we can have a bigger tree.

We love teow chew porridge here but it's probably my last time eating here.  I was caught by surprise needing the clear the table.  PapaVoo did the clearing, there were so many plates and bowls.  He never also do so much at home sia KNN.  Poor him you know, his hands were all dirty lor.

So we really have to be very careful of what we order in food courts and coffee shops.  I mean it's fine to clear your own plate of chicken rice.  But if you are ordering zhi char, you better check if they are willing to clear for you.  I won't want to clear a big soup bowl or a hot plate.  Then ppl started to comment in overseas ppl also clear their own tray lah, blah blah blah, hello, that's in fast food and kiosk I know, other eateries and restaurant no such thing hor.  Overseas my foot, damn angry sia.

Anyway, I don't normally eat in food courts/coffee shops.  If I ever start working, I will try to avoid.....

After the nasty dirty experience of clearing the table outside, back home, I rather dirty my hands at home.  I sand down this big board and oil all the wood boards.

Date: 03/01/2022 (Mon)

Random CNY face masks came with too many pinks, so annoying.

I was thawing a lobster in the chiller and it messed up.  The dirty water sipped down to the veg compartment.

I had to pull out the entire drawer to clean the smelly water, omg.....

Breakkie.  Chicken patty finished liao.  Give it a short break, maybe order again after CNY.

Managed to mop the floor (since Xmas) and cooked dinner.

Darren who doesn't eat seafood ate my portion of the fish and lobster porridge.

I air fried mid wings for the kids.  This was half the portion, the other half still in air fryer.

Watching local drama "Leave no soul behind".  It updates like snail, so life was not interrupted lolxx....

End of Dec

Stir fried ramen for dinner.

The boys took their bowls to their computer, their father took his to the balcony, so the dinning table was spared from cleaning.  One bowl meal is the best.

Xmas was finally over, I quickly put out my orders for CNY, it's on 1st Feb, not much time to catch a breath.

I gotten table cloth, window stickers, door couplets, some CNY face masks for fun and a wall decor.  They all should reached by mid Jan ba.....

Ber came for dinner, I cooked but forgotten to take pics.

I stuffed peppers with minced pork + beef, it was so freaking yummy, but Ber wasn't a big fan of peppers, just like 蜡笔小新 lolxx...

When test kits are controlled like petrol.  It's disgusting, whatever political reasons are behind.

My day started ridiculously late at 3pm.

Glad to have IKEA's waffles in freezer which took only a few seconds to warm up in the microwave.

No amount of elbow scrubs could clean the grouts, so the only way was to plaster over.

I bought a tube from Shopee and it was great!  One tube was only enough for 3/4 wall, work had to stop while I ordered more which will take at least another week to come.

Date: 31/12/2021 (Fri)

My throat just felt like Sahara desert, so I made cold brew for Luis and myself.

PapaVoo half day, bought us lunch.  It's messy hainan curry rice, delicious, would be perfect if he ordered pork chop for me instead of pom pom prawns.

I wiped off the excess grout whitener and put on the PVC, all took a few mins only.  I wished I didn't have to but we already bought 9 rolls, I had to use at least a few.  A colorful bathroom may not be too bad when the rest of the house is in greys and blacks, I think.

Went out with PapaVoo to buy pillows.  The first shop we went to was Seahorse, the sales lady wasn't in her best mood, so we moved to another shop attended by a very cheerful lady, so we gave her the bill.

We had a hard time looking for a place to eat, everywhere was crowded, nobody could be bothered with Covid any more, including us.

We had beef noodles in China style.

The new eatery which took over Nakhon Thai was not too busy.

Our new pillows heehee.....

I was too tired to step out again, PapaVoo went to see fireworks himself in the mid night.

Bye bye 2021.  All I hope for 2022 is to get air tix to Abu Dhabi and Japan, that's all sia.
