Life in Abu Dhabi UAE, Day 20

 Date: 05/04/2022 (Tues)

A bit slow in updating cos I binge watching drama again lolxx...  Also I kinda injured my fore finger, it's getting more painful urrgg...... but I had been in good mood ever since I came back from UAE and KL.  Slowly but surely will get done with recording in this "diary".

20th day in Abu Dhabi......

My sis asked me to get some photo frames for her from IKEA.  She asked if I knew where, I told her ya ya ya....... cos I seen it in Al Wahdan Mall.

Ramadan decors were nice, back here our malls don't really invest on it.

This IKEA was surprisingly small, like the size of a mini mart.  There wasn't any cafe, only a "grab & go" food counter.  My sis "bluffed" me.

So I had lunch at the food court instead.  I had to "reserve" KFC with my sis else she would kill me.
The nearest - Popeyes, heehee...

I couldn't remember when was my last time having such sinful fried chicken fast food.

I was told UAE's fried chicken very juicy de, true wor!  Amazingly yummy!

Back to IKEA, you guys just see look the pics ba...
4 cashiers, only 1 opened.

UAE is a muslim country, so no pork pork, only chicken balls and veg balls, no beef balls though.

Fruit juice which are not available in Singapore.

Veg hotdog.

Tea, should had bought some back.

The ice-cream was about SGD0.80, it's smaller than ours.

On the way back, I finally saw ambulance and fire engine, both were yellow lolxx...

Back home.  Our IKEA got such paper bags?
Sis came back from work, I "complained' to her how small the IKEA was, she said no, it's very big, as in it's a whole building.  Then we realised that I went to the wrong one lolxx....

We "hum tum" everything into the wok of noodles, dinner was great with my sis.
20 days flew pass, could only be with her for another 10 days in this foreign land.

Life in Abu Dhabi UAE, Day 19

 Date: 04/04/2022 (Mon)

I was wearing my baby sis's abaya again.
The greyish green, almost mint green is vey nice, it's about 2 inches too long, but I managed to survive kicking the hemline as I walk.

We drove around the Al Watan Palace and it seemed to be close.  So sad, cos a friend said it was as beautiful as the grand mosque.

Right next to it was Emirates Palace Hotel.  It's s freaking huge and lux.  Heard that it cost $1K for a night's stay.  When the UAE President past away, this hotel was fully occupied with VIPs.

The hotel lobby over looks Etihad Towers.

This tall guy at the lobby.

I wasn't the only one taking photos with him.

While most people took photos inside, I find the walkways enchanting.  I was all alone to fidget with my selfie stand and the photos turned out really good.  I looked so damn tall with slimming app lolxx...

How could these cuts be done on granite!!??!!  I was blown away!
Too beautiful.

Inside was shiny marble from wall to floor.

Need or not, must visit toilet.

It's very golden.

The beach not accessible for outsiders.

The glass panel.....

Goodbye to Emirates Palace Hotel, moving on, lunch needed.

The Mall at World Trade Centre.

The mall was like dead, where's everybody??  It's also very weird and silent, cos no music during Ramadan.

I had this restaurant all by myself.

Coke and chips came first while waiting for the mains.

The salad was so huge, I should had requested to pack away to save it for dinner.

Seafood pasta, I could only ate half of everything.

I walked in with no intention to buy, I ended up buying S$100 plus of shower foam and oil, and a atas car freshener.
Service was awesome.

On the way to the carpark, I realised everybody was in LuLu Supermarket.

1st half of Dec - suddenly last month of 2024

01/12/2024 Other than the NTUC supermarket, Singapore Pools had the most business.  Why people keep trying their luck when the odds are so...
