When I finally make time to post, I am already back in Singapore.
Scrolling down, what you are about to see my favourite itinerary. My sis booked an overnight stay in the desert with Qasr Al Sarab Resort, I couldn't manage to find the exact price and was too paiseh to ask. But from what I know it's managed by Anatara, and nothing is cheap from here but the experience was more than fabulous. It's worth it if you are able let your pockets bleed a bit and set your heart ablaze lolxx....
Started with home cook breakfast before setting off.
Frozen chicken balls and risotto from IKEA and frozen mini croissants from Delifrance.
My baby sis booked a car and drove about 1.5hrs, towards the last 30mins, we enjoyed the desert view. It was my first time seeing so much sand and it's just different from looking at it from the screen. It's breathtakingly beautiful......
Kena cheated by the gates, we thought we reached, but we went on for another 10mins.
At last we saw the real gate.
The entrance was like a giant sand castle.
We were leaded to the main lobby to rest as we were early before the tour's time.
We had cold towels, red dates milk and red dates.
The lobby was huge with high ceiling, marbled flooring, exquisite and lux furniture.
However the center of attraction was this female owl named Mary Kate.
It's so so so so super cute, although she felt heavy on my arm lolxx...
I always associate desert with death, you know in movies, people running away from enemies, then strained in a desert, then died of thirst lolxx....
But in reality, it's stunning, but of course you gotta have water lolxx..
Although the lash extensions weren't bad looking but my eye lids gotten oilier and my eyes were very irritated, I wanted to rub them all off.
Smiling from left to right even before the actual tour started.
5 star resort with 5 star washroom.
Mummy camel with her newborn.
Sand waves drawn by wind.
Photos before camel ride.
It didn't even look real, my baby sis was on the first camel, me at the second, behind me was a man and lastly his sis.
Camels wore masks so that they wouldn't nibble on plants, not covid prevention lolxx..
Sunset was like magic here, it's very very slow, so we got to enjoy the view for a long long time.
The camels left....
Sunset took it's time, so we even had time for a glass of wine.
Then had to pour sand out of shoes, heehee...
The guide who took care of only 4 of us. I forgotten why he was up there, hur hur...
The 2 ang mo were very easy going and we were glad to have them.
There were 4 beds in the tent but only my baby sis and me, the ang mo bro and sis had another tent by themselves.
We had a private chef to prepare BBQ dinner for us and a server by our side.
So exotic....
I love the warm bread to death but I had to tahan and save stomach space for the main course.
The main course was a giant plate of beef, lamb and prawns.
So yummy that I asked for another 2 prawns.
The moon was shinning very brightly, it's so beautiful and white in real life, I wasn't able to capture it with phone camera.
I was full to the brim but the coconut milk rice pudding was crazy delicious.
The local sweet tray came after that but we all had bursting tummies already.
We sat by the fire, talked a bit about our life.... the ang mo guy came to heal his grieve after his wife passed on recently. It reminded me that I have to cherish my old man, we are all not young any more and we can be gone the very next day.
I was told the wood were specially imported so they wouldn't give off so much smoke, in fact we love the smell. The fire was warm, dancing with cracking sound and I found peace in my heart, long lost peace......
It was 18 but felt lower cos it was very windy.
It was so cold that we didn't bath, I didn't think we smell anyway. Also becos' the bath room was in another tent, when we walked out, feet would be covered with sand, again.
This was my blanket for the night. We all had agreed to switch off the electricity generator at 1am. But around 3am, I needed to pee, so I had to make my way with a torch light.
Nevertheless, it was such a great experience that I will never forget in my life time....
So that's the end of day 3. The next morning we watched falcon show in sunrise and had breakfast before we left, so more nice pics for Day 4.
Hope everybody is well and perhaps find opportunity to travel again...
