Why we stop going to family steak house/cafe

Woke up in the noon and started cooking.  It's gonna be lunch cum dinner since I slept my breakfast away.

Only 3 here but there's actually 4pcs of 250g black angus ribeye with a bottle of steak sauce and it's only $32 from Angliss, cheap until teeth drop.

Steak with bacon wrapped asparagus and salad, completed with clam chowder.

So you know why we really don't want to waste money at places like Jack's place or iSteak.

Not exactly hungry after the big portion of steak, but this was supper to munch.

I like the custard but not the mochi texture fish lolxx...

As I am typing this, my Tao Bao arrived, I have to stop here for the time being to take care of my loots and clear the last bit of Luis's room cos workers are coming to remove the bunk bed tomorrow.  I will be posting the makeover of the room!

Watched fireworks at NDP rehearsal from far

I made big fat omelette with ham and mushroom, so yummy de..... for old man and me.

Darren don't eat avocado, don't eat mushroom, so I gave him pork and egg.

Evening, from Suntec, we walked to Merlion Park.

Road blocked..... with army, I can't post pics with army I think, ya....

Still can see army here, yup, whole park blocked and cannot access.

Just as we were about to give up, we found a way to get into the park by going into one of the restaurants along the coast.  So here we were at Aseana Bristro.  Can see the Merlion and the NDP performance stage from our table but of course it's far away.

It's very quiet even dine-in is allowed.

I liked it quiet anyway.

Basically I ate alone cos old man was doing Live streaming, he wasn't even seated.

Planes flew over us.... very little fireworks.

Singapore is so beautiful.

Fullerton looked amazing no matter day or night.

As we walked back to Suntec, there was a blast of fireworks for a few mins.

We made a quick trip in and out of Donki before driving home.

It was a good day, so nice to be out, although we probably have to wear face masks for the rest of our life since more and more ppl will be imported.  It doesn't take a genius to know that a fraction of these ppl comes here for medical treatment in the name of "essential travel".   Maybe one day, everybody can have affordable astronaut head cover with compressed oxygen, then we will be free from face masks, but never free from virus.

Went Kenney Roger's for dinner with PapaVoo.  Ya, both of us are vaccinated.

Many feel that it's not fair for those who are unvaccinated, but unvax ppl (can be due to personal choice or health issues) totally forgotten that if they kena, it can be life threatening to themselves.  Limiting them in public is a way to protect them and not others.

Anyway, I had nasi lemak, so so only, it's difficult to impress me, but I need a break from dish washing.

PapaVoo had chicken chop spaghetti, like that lor, same standard as my home cook.

Bought fire extinguishers from Shopee, I think was about $21 for a bundle of 2, expiry 2018, very good.  Easy to use, just press like pressing Bygone.  One for our house and one for Oakwood.

Cos I got freaked out by the fire at Tampines Blk 800+.  Good to have one but I hope I'll never get to use it.

Once in a while Angliss not too good

First purchase from Angliss, this is a miss, the duck taste was too strong, the meat was coarse, I had to chop into smaller pieces.

Luckily besides the duck breast, I had bacon to saved the spaghetti.  My onsen egg was PERFECT!!!!

Cover 17mins 80 degrees in my corning ware pot.  I will die if one day I break the pot lolxx.....  Different pot affects!

So this was lunch and I didn't cook dinner.

Otah buns for supper, from Angliss also, not nice, buns not soft enough, otah too little.

Bread bun in chicken rice flavor, it's weird maybe becos I steamed it???

Darren and I shared this plate for breakfast.

I made donburi for Luis, then made this pot with tofu and kimchi for PapaVoo and me, cos wanted to clear off the kimchi.

PapaVoo finished off almost everything while I was looking at my phone.  I was shocked nothing was left in the pot when I lifted up my head lolxx....  But when I looked at his innocent contended face I was very happy, he kept saying very yummy omg lolxxx.....  I asked why never leave some for me, he said he thought I had taken my portion, aiyo............. he thought he saw a pussy cat sia lolxx...

Minimizing in a comfortable way

I was re-organizing beneath the counter top of the master bath.

And I finally remembered to take a "Before" pic lolxx....

What happened was, PapaVoo would always buy excess cos he couldn't see the toiletries I stored in the boxes.  There was once he had 4 packets of bath gels sia.  Some items were too big and the containers don't have enough space.  At the left hand side were my cleaning tools and detergents in a container which was too big.  Never mind about the floor, I couldn't remove the rust stains. 

I took out everything, gave the area a nice sanitized wipe down.  The cleaning tools and detergents, still at the left side are now in a small tray.  The extra toiletries are put on the double deck shelve.  PapaVoo's main "concern" are only his shower gel, shampoo and toothpaste which I put them on the top shelve so that he can see even though he is blind.  I put new toothbrushes and extra combs in the pink container.  Bottom shelve are all my rubbish of facial cleansers, shower gels and talcum powder which I am trying to clear them off before buying.

The big box in the middle are bulky body scrubs and lens solutions, the little yellow tub contains new razors.

The above is covered up with a short curtain, well done, I love myself.

Evening, I asked PapaVoo to bring me to SingPost's Skechers.  I wanted to get a dark color pair of shoes to replace the one that gave way.  However, I changed my mind and decided that I can make do without one.  I am going to take out my grey Nike which I 不舍得穿 . Will do with that whenever I need to wear a dark pair of shoes.  I am trying to cut down on dressing since I am staying at home.  It's always not too late to buy if I need when I am going back to work.  For the sake of the new room, I am trying to 断舍离 as much as possible.  But there are still things that I hold on to although I am fully aware that I am not using them..... somehow.  I am not going to minimize until I got nothing left, will do as long as I have enough storage.  I don't want bursting cabinets and things overflowing cluttering living space.  I still enjoying possessions in a way but not too much so that I don't have to spend my life packing things over and over again.

Also, the miserable small Mayer outlet didn't have charcoal filter in store, so it was a total wasted trip.

Anyway, we bought dinner back, didn't expect the taste was so China, we quite like it but not for the kids.  Luckily we bought an extra pizza for them.

Their ice lemon and milk tea not bad.  We were attracted to the cute zip lock packaging lolxx...

Brunch, egg toasts and portobello mushroom pies.

Nice sia.

I was quite tired clearing up Luis's room, dinner I only steamed this emperor chicken and pan fried an omelette.  Took more than 30mins to make it hot.

Very yummy, I like the sauce, goes well with rice.

I was looking for a new bedside table to put my water bottle and humidifier.

This seems to fit into the room's design, I will see again once the wall paper and beds are up.

 Also a side study table for Luis, he say he wanted to put his study lap top.  PapaVoo will make noise if he spends to much at one go, so I will go slow and see how in Sep.

Early National Day Celebration

Old man very poor thing, waited for me to wake up to make him lunch.

Pork and cabbage dumplings.

I moved out all the books from the bunk bed, didn't know they were so dusty, managed to stash half of them to Salvation Army.

Happy moment.

I was waiting to see the MSW Singapore Flag cake.  Very cute sia.

Ordered lots of mini pie, these were for Ber's family.

Ta bao dinner from Feng San.

Who's desperate to dine out?

Curry chicken sandwich.  Surprised that inside got egg!  Yummy.

I was trying to clean the veg compartment of the fridge, this PapaVoo took out the whole drawer.  Good thing that he did so, never know it was dirty beneath.  Suddenly it occurred to me that I hadn't clean the base of the freezer for a long time. 

When I removed the freezer drawer I wanted to faint sia.  So I had to make it a monthly chore to clean the chiller base and freezer base.  What are the other forgotten and easily neglected parts at home?

We had dinner at Oakwood, order from Wang Lei's restaurant.  Not bad for merely $138 including delivery, the food were delicious!   Fried rice and desserts not in pic.

Then we shared MSW cake, so happy.

My kid sis suddenly apologized to me for the way she treated me.  I told her we move on lah.  I hope she will treat me politely in future.  Actually I never really blame her, being the oldest but I failed to take care of them, maybe deep inside, she is blaming me for not doing enough.  Myself not perfect, so I have no right to judge others.
