Mid Jan

It was quite a tough patch, but my father managed to pull through.  I wouldn't say that we are good, but we made it alive (literally).  The busiest first few days of CNY is finally over.  PapaVoo has gone back to work, Darren starting his vocation, Luis gone back to school for his last semester and me, home alone at long last, back to the keyboards.

So I got plenty to update, glad that few of you are reading, sharing my life story....

Date: 08/01/2020 (Wed)

I am losing friends cos I don't initiate meet ups.  But whenever ppl jio me, I will turn up unless I am working or in hospital (so damn frequently).  However, it's not enough, ppl initiate until sian liao...

So when a Hokkaido travel mate jio, I was happy to crawl out of my shell although I was a little tired.  Sigh..... since when I am not tired anyway.

We had a meal a Ma-Maison Takashimaya, talked a lot about our children, miraculously I felt a lot better, really.  We struggled so much as a mother, we looked fine on the appearance, nobody will ever know what we been through.

It was quiet around 11.30am, so we could hog the table guilt-free.

We shared sea-food paella, I was treating this as my last meal of seafood before surgery.

She wanted salmon, so this was it.

Glad to be at Takashima's CNY food bazar, it's way better than Chinatown (to each's own).

I bought truffle ships, KALE pineapple balls and bandung pineapple tarts.

Also bought a small ceramic pot at $29, good for 1pax porridge or instant noodles.

The color matches my black kitchen, the colorful lid is brilliant.

Took a photo outside Chomel's pop-up store.

Can't wait to see the real sakura.... I haven't book airtix, still waiting for Luis's school schedule.

Didn't mange to persuade my friend to do pedi with me.  So I went after she left.  This China aunty was giving out leaflet at Wisma, I gave it a try without pinning any hopes.  The salon was at Lucky Plaza.

It turned out to be one of the best pedi ever.  While my massage was still unbeatable (some of you may know I used to be a manicurist), my cuticles were all cleared.

A conservative reddish pink but I like it.  Fat feet 2 shades fairer heehee...

 DIY pedi is difficult cos my fat tummy is obstructing a lot, but I probably doing mani myself when CNY is nearer.

I ta bao yong tau foo for hubby which was at the same floor.  Then he came to pick me up at TANGS avoiding the ERP, heehee...

2 more bow cushions came from TaoBao, my sofa looked a million dollars now.

Absolutely pleased with myself lolxx....

The flower arrange was completed, thanks to hubby who bought the CNY decor piece which covered the glass vase completely.

Since yesterday I was out, housework was accumulated.  Each day I am not at home, the next day I have to "pay back".  You probably will ask how dirty the house can be, I can tell you, VERY.  Visible dust and hair everywhere, every corner, I die.....

I will take a pic of my floor wipe to show one of these days, heehee...

Back to Changi Hospital again, yay..... urrrg.....

The cyst somehow turned black and big over the week.  It's infected and the surgery was arranged quickly on 13rd.  Fees can be covered by Medisave but my main concern is still the scar.  There's no way out other than giving my cheek a knife to get the rotting pus out.  I am really upset that I have to go through this.  Only Luis 安慰 me, hubby didn't bother.  I began to wonder if I will be better off single, only god knows.

Had some jap beef with rice set at the hospital's food court and it's not nice sia.

I will have plenty of chance to try other stalls anyway.

Hubby came home half day, so I suggested to go Jurong Point to look for bed sheets before fetching Darren from HTA.  Thank goodness, we found something he likes and within the budget.

Malaysia Boheh food court now less crowd after the expansion.

Tea break was great.

We ta bao dinner and fetch our precious son home.  My body ache all over, calling it a day.

Things are not good.....

Spend the entire noon in Polyclinic not really to see a doc but to get a referral letter to CGH, sigh...

2nd trip to IKEA to get single bed sets and also black out curtains (finally!).

Dressing up the room is the same as dressing ourselves, less color looks neater.  So I bought 2 sets of the same.  It's a hot pink at one side and light salmon pink on the other, auspicious and girly combi.

Date: 07/01/2020 (Tues)

3rd trip to IKEA, cos I bought bed comforter sets without buying the fitted sheets.  Hope it's the last, I no energy liao.

I did a semi-tall flower arrangement, too short on it's own but managed to look ok on a tatami table.

Need to cover the glass vase up though.

Dinner time went to the neighbourhood to get something to paste on the vase.

We bought home something too big which I just slapped it on the door instead.

I was surprised by how happy I felt to walk around.

ps.  Will be updating less cos my father is crucially ill in the hospital.  In previous years, I always grumbled how tough life was before CNY.  I always had to deal with plenty of bad luck, little misfortunes and some toxic humans.

This year is the worst with myself having 2 surgeries within 2 months with a lot of pain and my father.....  Please do not wish him good health cos it's not possible le.... I am drained out from crying.

Must remove cyst on face...

My pocket spring mattress came. 

The FOC pillow that came with it was a normal housewife pillow.  Darren had neck support pillow in HTA, now detest normal ones liao.  So I fished him out to buy a neck support foam pillow for him.  Got it at $36 only from Seahorse.  Others I saw were $50 and above.  Nowadays pillow also not cheap de.

I went to SkinLab to make an appointment to see a aesthetic doc.  Was lucky enough they had a slot which allowed me to do a facial before seeing a doc.  My last facial was more than 6 months ago, I wonder how did I bear with all the clogged pores.  Anyway, I thought a steroid inject could clear the lump on my face.  So I found out that it was a cyst which a steroid jab wouldn't work on it.  The only option was to remove it surgically.  I was quoted $800, but he was kind enough to ask me to check with the hospital (cos hospital can be covered by medisave).  I took his advice to seek for a second opinion from the hospital.  My main concern is scar, I don't want to live with a surgical scar on my face.

It didn't matter whether fat or thin, beauty or old hag, a scar on face is the biggest taboo for any women.

Was pass 4pm by the time I reached home.

Did simple editing, erase away my cyst, smoothen my face, send over to ICA.

Will deal with it if it's rejected.

Dinner was expensive but not exactly worth it, Arnold's fried chicken combo was $24.  2 drinks, 1 big coleslaw, 2 buns, fries, 5pcs chicken:

Standard of living so high, salary so low.  Getting the cheapest labor is the main objective of all employees.  $7/$8 per hour kind of pay how to sustain?  Everyday can only eat ikan billis le...  Sigh, chicken not bad lah, but still too expensive omg...

Their laughter filled house with warmth and joy, this is how a happy family is suppose to be.  Nintendo Switch was fun, the sofa was cozy lolxx...

After the high spirit count down, everything dropped back to reality.  It's another morning, life continues as usual, didn't matter it's new year or not.

Cooked myself brunch.

Light soya sauce made the scallops looked so ugly, should had just made do with salt.  After stomach was filled, endless housework and cleaning awaits.

Besides house chores, I jot down a list of things I needed to do by end Jan, very challenging....  I am going to be so busy, very difficult to relax myself...

Date: 03/01/2020 (Fri)

Made extra effort to wake up early.  Went to collect TaoBao which included my baby sis item.

Bought pink stockings for my Tokyo trip.  Good quality and very pretty, not easy to pull up but managed to fit, not sure if it's comfortable for pro-long wearing.

The rubber casing stinks, hope the smell will go off soon.

I am gonna rip off the screen protector soon.  The corner was cracked but didn't effect binge drama watching, so I wasn't sure if it's worth to get another new screen protector.

Managed to dig out the CNY flowers to re-arrange them into a vase later.

Ate lunch alone at Canton Paradise at T3, some braised chicken with rice.

The next table was having porridge, or rather porridge with water only.  They informed to the serving crew but no replacement was given, no compensation was offered.  If I were them, I die die won't pay for the food and re-order.

Sisters came quite late around 1pm plus, but was still able to have simple lunch.  I drink and nibble a bit of food here and there.

And finally a goodbye without tears.

From the airport went IKEA, not enough time, only managed to get a coffee tray and a vase for my CNY flower arrangement.  After which I rushed for the TCM massage at Century Sq.  They tried to up sell me more packages, thank god I was smart enough to reject.  After the detox massage, I felt giddy, they said it's normal.

Finally gotten home, held myself up, asked hubby to take passport photo for me.  I shouldn't had.  Not satisfactory, it takes a miracle for him to take nice photos.  Took a few selfies and went straight to bed, I was so exhausted!

The next day, my shoulders wasn't as stiff after the session, but gotten some red bruises on the back and blue blacks on my arms.  I felt sore as if I got beaten up but feels less tired.  I will finish up the package and won't go back again, not nice to pay to get bashed up.

First day of 2020

I can't even remember when was my previous new year count down.
Anyway, I was only interested in fireworks.  We were so close that we could smell the gun powder and all smoked out lolxx...

It lasted for about 8mins, after which we slowly crawled back home, so damn tired, what the hell.

I cooked simple lunch, took a 2hrs nap, ordered Mcdonald's for dinner.

Spicy nuggets was crazy good, curry sauce tub with 3 months life span was the thing I want and I don't know why.

Hoping for a better health, I suffered so much in 2019; find a job that employer appreciate and not slave driven; bring me to see more of this beautiful world 2020.  New year or not, I will walk (or crawl) the path ahead myself.

Apart from the usual spring cleaning, I had one whole lists of things to do, for a better home and better quality of living.... gonna need so much strength, but I don't know where to get it....

Last few days of 2019

CNY glass stickers from TaoBao arrived, couldn't wait, hubby and I pasted them up immediately.

Managed to get them done before night.

Nobody touched the bread buns I bought.  I made them into sunny egg and luncheon meat burgers.

Luis love it, cos the bread buns were so soft.

Dinner shift was supposed to work with person I dislike.  But when I reached, I found that he swooped shift with another guy.  It was such a relieve cos I am really disgusted by him.  The sales was boosted by the beer, but we packed until arms ache de...

Date: 31/12/2019 (Tues)

The sofa came earlier than expected.  At first, the delivery guy went to Pasir Ris, called me from there and said that he couldn't find my unit.  I told him TAMPINES, so he arrived 15mins later.

The big guy came alone with 2 big boxes.

He said he had send more than 10 light grey sets of this model, never know there's a dark grey. 

The dark grey color managed to fake a atas look, color shade nicer than expected, overall is simply gorgeous.  I left the square stool mobile as a foot rest or as a coffee table with a big tray placed on top of the firm mattress.

The young boy left the huge cartoons at the bin area which obstructed the common passage way.  Hubby and I had to flatten them and bring them down to the chute ourselves.  Didn't want to make a complain cos he was probably in a hurry and it was really tough to do furniture delivery alone.

The velvet bow ribbon cushion from TaoBao also came and it was lovely on the sofa.

Love it so much that I had ordered 2 more.  Will decide when it comes to put all on the sofa or put one on my bed.

After all the excitement and some cleaning up, had a short nap.  It was an agony to wake up but I had to get do with my last day of work at Eunos.  Knowing that my stay was only 3 months, I didn't allow myself to be emotionally attach to the work place and no social media shared with anybody.  If I can't find a job after Jan, I may have to go back though.

After work, went home to enjoy my sofa for an hour.  Was tired but dragged myself out to Tampines Hub with hubby.  I wasn't interested in the count down, I want to see fireworks, I love fireworks.

The Hub was very crowded.  We had some fun at Ip Man's photo booth.

PapaVoo was grinning from left to right, this cute old man...

We walked around trying to find the best spot to view the fireworks.  Almost wanted to walk to a HDB opposite.  We ended up at the 2nd floor together with a small crowd.  Hubby took the entire video of the 8mins duration of fireworks, will post on next entry.
